Yes, get the extended warranty (Protection plan), especially if you are still paying off the bike. It cost less than the replacement of almost any part, so you have one issue, and it pays for itself. You’re almost guaranteed to have a mechanical issue of some kind beyond the initial 12 months. It’s good because if there is something really wrong with the bike, they can replace it with a new frame. Also, the bike + screen is 900 bucks, and the Original bike screen is 500 bucks, and it’s covered. Repairs on Pelotons can be costly, and I think the insurance for the peace of mind is worth it.
My use of the extended warranty was smooth, and it cost me zero to have a repair tech come out and have new parts installed.
It’s insurance. If you never need it, it’s a waste – but if you do it more than it pays for itself. You’re really paying for peace of mind in the event you have a problem. It’s worth it to some people (I bought it), but not to others.
Normally, I would agree with that; however, Peloton doesn’t push the warranty like most places do, and it covers items that need replacement from simple wear and tear. Amazingly, the Peloton extended warranty (Protection plans) has been transferable since April 2022. Therefore, if you purchase a used bike that is relatively new, bought after April 2022 and within 12 months after purchase, ensure that you get the extended warranty from the original buyer.
However, if the original buyer did not have the extended warranty, you can always request a purchase from Peloton.

In the above case, the limited warranty only covers parts, labor and repairs for one year. Also, the warranty does not cover surge and accidental damages. However, there is an option to ensure that you are covered for more than just one year for all these products and services. After all, the equipment is still new during the first year, and most damages tend to happen after the first year.
And this is where the extended Peloton warranty comes in handy. It gives you complete coverage that allows you 48 months risk-free on the bike, bike + and tread, and 24 months on the guide.
However, unlike the limited warranty, the extended warranty has a cost, which varies among the different products.
Which Countries Qualify for the Peloton Extended Warranty?
Currently, the only locations qualifying for the Peloton extended warranty are the Continental USA, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and Alaska. The Peloton treadmill extended warranty is further limited to only the Continental USA.
For UK and Canada: Peloton currently offers a 27-month extended service plan for 39 months of total coverage.

The extended warranty in Peloton varies depending on the products, with the cheapest being the guide and the most expensive being the tread warranty. Let’s have a look;

How to Buy Peloton Extended Warranty
Primarily, you can buy the Peloton extended warranty when purchasing the product (available at the checkout). Alternatively, you can wait for up to 12 months, during which you are still eligible for the warranty, but later. Therefore, you can purchase the extended warranty from the order date up to 12 months after the delivery.
So, to buy the Peloton extended warranty;
- Include the warranty at checkout during the purchase of the Peloton bike, bike +, tread or guide.
However, if you already bought the Peloton equipment without the extended warranty, you have up to 12 months to get the warranty. Note that 12 months after the delivery of the equipment, you will be ineligible for the extended warranty.

However, you have to move within the states where Peloton’s extended warranty is effective, which are Continental USA, Puerto Rico, Alaska and Hawaii. If you move out of these states, the extended warranty will not work for your equipment.
Are There Alternatives to the Peloton Extended Warranty?
Yes, there are. Unfortunately, the Peloton extended warranty only applies to equipment owners with equipment older than one year.
